THE DETAILS

QUINCY — An Adams County jury took 2 hours and 45 minutes to find Bradley Yohn guilty of all six felony counts at a trial that lasted a week.

Yohn was charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking and aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon — all Class X felonies — that he committed on Nov. 9, 2021, at the home of Christine “Tina” Lohman Schmitt.

As the jury foreman read the verdict, Yohn dropped his head, rubbed his temple then shook his head.

Tina Lohman Schmitt’s four adult children were all present in the courtroom

After the guilty verdicts were read, Yohn asked for the jury to be polled as bailiff Chad Downs placed the handcuffs on him. Yohn looked at each juror as they confirmed their verdict.

As Thomson read his appreciation to the jury before dismissing them, Yohn continued to shake his head.

Thomson asked Yohn if there was anything else and he replied, “No your honor. I’m at a loss.”

A sentencing hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1. The status of two other cases against Yohn will be handled on that day as well. Yohn’s bond is revoked.

Yohn could be sentenced to serve between six and 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections if he’s found guilty of any Class X felony.
