A proposal by Countour Airlines for direct flight service from Quincy to Nashville was cleared for takeoff by the Quincy Aeronautics Committee on Thursday.

By a unanimous vote (two members absent), the committee recommended bringing the proposal before the Quincy City Council on March 9.

The committee voted after an hour-long special meeting that included a presentation by a representative from Contour Airlines, Vice-President of Customer Success Susan Skees, and public comment, which included direct questions to Skees.

There were some clear mandates and constructive criticism, notably that the schedule must include earlier departure times, especially for business travelers heading to Chicago.
